Ring ka King – Wrestling ka Mahayudh

Colors is gearing up to launch another international format show for theweekend slot. Ring ka King– Wrestling ka Mahayudh, a sports entertainment reality show, is produced by Endemol India in association with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, a privately held professional wrestling promotion company founded by Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett. The show combines elements of reality and fiction and is about TNA wrestlers and the Indian wrestlers who will fight for the title of “Ring Ka King”.

The show will run for 13 weeks and will feature 14 Indian and 16 international wrestlers including Jeff Jarrett, Matt Morgan, Scott Steiner and Monster Abyss. Indian wrestlers to participate in the show are Jwala, Mahabali Veera, Romeo Rapta, Zoravar and Deadly Danda amongst others.

Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada

Sony Entertainment Television (Set) has joined forces with soap factory Balaji Telefilms once again to launch a new fiction show, Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada. Multi Screen Media COO NP Singh said, “With the incredible performance of all our fiction shows, we are ready for the next level of growth with a fresh lineup of interesting shows.”

The show follows the story of a married couple with three growing children. It traces the rise and fall of love and togetherness in a typical Indian married couple, whose time and attention for each other survives the vagaries and demands of life’s problems. Mona Singh returns to fiction shows after a hiatus of almost seven years opposite Pawan Shankar who plays her husband Pradeep Singh.

Accidental Heroes

Factual entertainment channel History TV18 is launching a new show,Accidental Heroes. It is a docu-drama that brings forth re-enactments of extreme accidents, real-life stories that narrate tragic of human tribulations and the strength of the human spirit to overcome against all odds. From a group of cricketers who come to the aid of a woman trapped under a car after a horrific road accident to how a 10-year-old boy helps his best friend after he slashes his neck with broken glass in a freak accident, the series encompasses it all. Accidental Heroes showcases select stories of people who have beaten the odds and have escaped death.

Techno Sonic brings gadgets from the future and targets the adventure and fun-loving junkies who believe that beauty lies in technology itself. Techno Sonic will be anchored by two Subiya and Rishabh; they will discuss new gadgets from the future and their unique functions. A new installment of the show is available on the online portal every Mondays and viewers can log on to the website and watch the episodes at their convenience. With this new series Discovery Channel is hailing India’s diversity showcasing India’s wildlife, secret locations, epic landscapes and colourful beauty. Foodistan

If you are one of those who enjoy food shows on TV channels, NDTV Good Times is airing a new food reality show, Foodistan. The show will bring together 16 top professional chefs from India and Pakistan. “Eight professional chefs from India will compete with eight chefs from Pakistan to create the best cuisine from both the sides of the Indo-Pak border,” the show’s co-host Ira Dubey said. “The show has many twists and surprises, and the chefs will have to create the dishes that the judges demand according to their own local traditions,” Ms. Dubey explained. The series is spread into 26 parts and is co-hosted by Aly Khan. The participants will be judged by a three-member judge panel comprising food critic Vir Sanghvi, Bollywood actor Sonya Jehan and British chef and presenter Merrilees Parker.

Sreepadmanabham

Amrita TV, the Malayalam entertainment channel, is gearing up to launch a new historical drama, Sreepadmanabham. The show circumnavigates the Padmanabhaswamy temple of Travancore and depicts the tale of its past, Directed by film director Suresh Unnithan. Amrita TV claims that Sreepadmanabham is virtually the first television show to narrate tale of the temple that is intertwined with the history of princely Travancore and the erstwhile royal family.  Portrayed in dramatic details, the show chronicles all the highpoints in the history of the temple. It shows the periods of Ravivarma Kulasekhara to Chittira Thirunal-the development of the Ettarayogam council who controlled the temple’s administration.
