ABP Pvt. Ltd., the group which publishes ‘The Telegraph’ and ‘Anand Bazaar
Patrika’ has announced of launching a Bangla entertainment channel. The channel is expected to debut by the last of this year. Rajesh Chugh has been appointed as the Head Sales, advertisement and distribution for the channel.
This new channel will comprise of programmes based on Music and dance along with Talent shows and family drama. Talks are that the group also holds plans of launching its own news channel as well. The same group started a channel earlier named ‘Star Jalsa’, in which Star Group had its stake. However, in this new Bangla entertainment channel, their will be no role and stake of Rupert Murdoch’s company. Kolkata situated ABP media group and Rupert Murdoch’s Star group are running several media entities together. ‘Media Content and Communication Services’ is the joint venture by both the companies which operates channels like Star News, Star Ananda and Star Majha.
