Dish TV has announced its foray into provision of high-definition (HD) services to its subscribers with the launch ‘Dish Tru HD’. Marking the launch of this new technology on its platform, Dish TV looks to leverage the use of its HD set-top boxes (STBs) by the Indian viewers backed by major sporting events 2010 FIFA World Cup and the Commonwealth Games 2010 scheduled this year.

The Dish Tru HD platform would deliver more enthralling television viewing experience to the audience with superior, clear and crisp video coupled with high-definition audio and thus taking the television viewing to an entirely new paradigm. The picture shown on HD platform is 5 times more in detail and up to 3 times more enhanced in terms of the sound in compared to the standard definition technology viewing, which still is largely more prevalent in the subcontinent.
