President Pratibha Patil during her interaction with the girl students of the Sabarmati Ashram said women should get organised and take on the perverted and improper depiction of women in advertisements and television serials. If women come forward, the companies cannot misuse them for their ads, said Patil.

When a girl student of the ashram asked the President if the government should impose restrictions on the increasing sleaze in the advertisements and television serials, Patil said though there should be government restrictions to some extent, it is self perception that matters more.

“There should be government restrictions to some extent, but the bigger thing is every person has to think how he or she wants to live her life. Such dvertisements are coming as our women are ready to pose for them,’’ she said.
