ET Now to be launched in April 2009

Times Global Broadcasting Co Ltd (TGBCL), the broadcast arm of BCCL, is inching closer to the launch of its English business news channel. The channel has been christened as ET Now, akin to its English news channel Times Now, which was launched in 2006. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh launched the ET Now logo at the Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence, held in Mumbai in the presence of 400 top-flight CEOs and policy makers of corporate India.

ET Now will be positioned as a clear, authoritative and credible voice of the India Inc. The channel hopes to replicate the values of the Economic Times, which is the most widely read business publication the country, and the focus would be on speed and accuracy in the business domain. Presently, the English business news genre has three players – CNBC TV18, NDTV Profit and UTVi.
