Your feature The Booming Indian News Media-All Glam No Content was good. It is true that the Indian news media is growing by leaps and bounds but at the same time the quality of produce in the news channels is deteriorating by the day. Few news channels show more advertisements and movie trailers than news. While others telecast incidents like a husband ditching his wife for a mistress, a man beating up another man etc. again and again 24 hours a day. Most often that not, the news that matters is not broadcasted. At this point the question arises that what is the role of media? Such irresponsible journalism calls for a government regulation for creating a journalism framework or a media regulation. The Govt. should streamline the number of news channels and allow only those who take journalism seriously!
